You booked your personal beauty team for hair and make up - now what?
Before your big event, prepping your skin and hair for professional styling and make up application is just as important as the services. Our experts dished on the best way to prepare before your team arrives.
Pre-Make Up Application:
Exfoliate! When: Two Days Before
Removing any dead skin cells is crucial for a smooth make up application. By taking care of this step a couple days before any redness and irritation that may occur will dissipate and your skin will be smooth and revitalized.
Moisturize! When: Everyday!
Even if you have oily skin, your cells need a light moisturizer daily to retain hydration and smoothness. Even acne-prone skin benefits from a moisturizer which will balance out skin from overproducing excess oil and sooth any irritation.
Face Mask! When: Day of Event
Kyle recommends an eye mask the morning before your artist arrives. Sephora carries a line of infused cloth masks which can be used in specific spots or all over to target troubled areas or provide all over hydration. For some extra pampering on red or dry skin, Lush Love Lettuce mask is a natural combination of seaweed, honey and French lavender oil that balances your t-zone and nourish skin.
Hair Styling Prep:
Avoid any hair masks or heavy conditioners.
Oily hair: Use a clarifying shampoo to remove any excess oil. Our product Clean Slate in the BE Prepped & Styled Line is our tried and true shampoo to strip hair while retaining shine and not over-drying hair.
Apply a leave in conditioner to ends every day leading up to the event.
Any hair color should be done two weeks prior to event along with a hair trim 2-4 weeks prior.
A clear glaze is a great option for brunettes to add high shine and dimension for your style and look great in photos. Ask your salon professional for this treatment!
Now that you know exactly how to prep for your pro - make sure you book your group for their event hair and make up! Our team specializes in on site group bookings for galas, photo shoots, weddings, parties, bachelorettes, and more!
