Screen_Shot_2016-08-30_at_6.20.28_PM.pngWe are going to let you in on a secret: we like to be super comfortable in the office. This means whenever we have a networking event or business after hours event, we need to pull out our make up bags and take our look from a day in the office to a night out.

Tomorrow we will be attending an event in Greenwich, CT hosted by The Knot which will kick off a series of events including the three day Wedding MBA Wedding Pro Convention in Las Vegas and The Knot Gala in New York.

This inspired us to ask our artists their favorite tips and best tricks to shift their day time work hair and make up to an evening look when they don't have the time to assemble their beauty team.

Hair:

Bobby pins! Beauty Entourage hair stylist Ali on our CT team loves the high pony tail trick when she has to run from work to a big event or night out.

1. Tie your hair up in a pony tail - high and tight, and pull some pieces out for texture.

2. Lift the pony tail and stick two bobby pins in the elastic pointing down to make the pony tail pop up a bit!

Another quick trick is to twist and pull back to transition straight or curly hair into a more formal look.

1. Take a section from either side of your face, leave pieces in the front to frame and soften the look.

2. Twist each section as you pull back the hair to create texture and dimension. Pin back with a bobby pin and then hide with a piece of twisted hair.

Make Up:

Our in office make up expert, Beth,  has a few tricks she uses to go from a busy work day to an event after she leaves the office. "Just a couple key products is all it takes!" Beth strips her make up bag down to the essentials when she knows she wont have a lot of time to get ready.

Screen_Shot_2016-08-15_at_12.14.15_PM.png1. A pressed translucent powder to absorb oil is going to be your best friend. You don't want to go out looking shiny! Our favorite is Becca's Blotting Powder Perfector that minimizes pores and leaves your skin with a completely matte finish. It is long lasting but can be brought for touch ups! Along the same lines, Urban Decay's All-Nighter Setting Spray is a favorite of all
our make up professionals. The lightweight formula seals in your make up and keeps you shine free through even the longest networking events!

2. Bring in dark liner and eye shadow brush if the event is a little more glamorous. The liner can be used to create defined lashes and the eye shadow brush can smudge for that subtle wing or a smokey look.

3. Any look is finished with a swipe of lip gloss and a smile! Always carry a neutral, moisturizing lip gloss for a smooth, plump pout before you go out. You'll be more aware of your lips and smile more! Everyone looks beautiful with a smile!

Luckily, our office is packed with sprays, make up and products! You don't have to be a hair and make up expert to bring your look from office day to social hour night. Just a few tricks from our pros will have you prepared for any event!
