If you are looking for a great look for a night out or a special occasion, why not take some ideas from Hollywood’s heyday? Our traveling hair stylists and makeup artist put together a few tips to recreate your version of a pinup style! The pinup or rockabilly look is very on trend right now. While you may be overwhelmed by what it takes to achieve this makeup look, these simple tips from the Beauty Entourage experts can make it achievable.

•    Start with a Good Base – A smooth foundation and plenty of powder is necessary for your base. You want a more matte look than you may normally be comfortable with utilizing. Airbrush makeup may even be a good choice if you want a look that lasts all night long.

•    Dramatic Eyes in a Dark Shade – Dramatic eyes are very important to achieving this look. A combination of neutral and dark, such as those found on the Point N’ Shoot palette by MAC are a good choice.

•    Remember Your Eyebrows – A clean, dark brow is an essential element to the pinup look. Make sure you have your brows meticulously waxed and consider darkening them to create that pinup-worthy frame for your eyes.

•    Simple Lips that Pop – The best thing about the pinup look is that lips can be easy. A cherry red is traditional, but make sure you find a shade that complements your natural skin tone. Chanel Rouge Allure in Passion is an amazing vintage-look red that works well for many skin tones. Lining isn’t necessary unless you are uncomfortable without it.

•    Baby Doll Blush – Another area where makeup should be light is on your cheeks. Blush should give you a pinch of rosiness to the apples of your cheeks gives you that old-fashioned beauty you’re hoping to achieve. Highlighting and contouring is not necessary.

As you can see, the basics aren’t that bad! Just experiment, and you’ll find exactly what it takes to help you feel comfortable with your new style.
